“Wings And Flights Paragliding and Paramotoring institute of India” has been a firmly rooted and trusted establishment in the aviation field since 1991. It was founded by Capt. Eric Menezes, who is a seasoned pilot and instructor for sailplanes and paramotors and is recognized as the Pioneer of Paramotoring in India. Wings and Flights is not only a leading firm in training students but also under takes the intricacies of manufacturing complete paramotor airframes and aviation propellers and is continuously striving to meet international standards of sophistication in technology. Safety and dedication are two words Wings and Flights has built its foundation around and hence, we strictly adhere to safety norms laid down by world organizations such as APPI & FAI. Extensive and compulsive use of radios has made paramotoring an extremely safe sport over the years. We only delegate instructors that have undergone training and filtration process through these norms and exams. We have been “the alma mater”, responsible for training 1500 students to fly paragliders and paramotors in our history, out of which a handful have gone ahead to form India’s first team to participate in “World Paramotor Championships 2018”.

Duration of this training will be 5 – 6 days which will include 2 hours of training per day (practical & theory). Please note that this is subject to weather conditions and the pace at which the student picks up the skill
The training includes basic theoretical knowledge about piloting, equipment, mechanics of flight, air-laws, weather, mental state awareness and emotional control. This is a beginner’s course which provides the student with their first rating in the PPG education system. This includes 2 hours of training per day (practical & theory). The student learns how to launch and control the wing on the ground, with and without the engine, and also learns how to control the paramotor on the ground. The aim is, for the student to perform at least 1 solo PPG flight during the course and in most cases even more. At this level the student is allowed to fly only under radio instructions and supervision of a qualified / experienced PPG instructor. The first solo flight of 1 hour duration will mark the completion of the course. From here on the student will be certified as a PPG – Level1 Backpack Pilot. It is imperative to the needs of progression, to maintain a pilot’s log book which must begin with your first instructional flight logged in. The log book will be provided to you by us at a nominal charge.

You will enhance your skill, gain confidence, be able to handle situations that demand quick decisions and obtain necessary credentials for a good Pilot. Emphasis will be mostly laid on high flying for orientation purpose, low-level flying, ground handling tasks, cross country flying and essential mid-air maneuvers for enhancing confidence. The final Cross Country flight marks the completion of the Backpack Explore course. From here on the student will be certified as a PPG – Level 2 Backpack Pilot.

We, at Wings & Flights don’t only look after the flying instructions and the technicalities of flying; we also manufacture paramotors and propellers. If you want to buy paramotors, you need not look any further. 20 years of rigorous research and experience in this field has made us pretty good at what we do.
Our evolution in all these years has got us to a reasonably fine degree of flawless manufacturing and we do not leave any stones unturned. We are bound by our eccentricity of having covered almost any hurdles that have impeded the progress of flying for paramotor pilots. Let it be materials, strength, durability, conduciveness, weight to power ratio or ease of handling, we cover all aspects. We are indeed, just a short hop away from making “paramotor flying” feel like a bed of roses.
-
If you think your paramotor is giving you distress signals or if she needs some good tinkering just call upon us and bring her by our facility and we guarantee you that we will make her feel up and flying again.
Knowing paramotors is our expertise, and we know them from the inside-out. We have a fully developed facility that is well equipped with technology and staff specifically dedicated for servicing, repair and upkeep of paramotors.

Paramotors are extremely versatile machines. They are capable of flying as low as skimming at just about 2 feet above the ground to dizzying heights of almost 6000 – 10000 feet above mean sea level, depending on the condition of the machine and the tuning of the carburetor.
Though, however, the record that was made for the highest paramotor flight in the world was 30,000 feet above mean sea level, which could only be possible under regimented circumstances. One should understand that no matter how high your machine can fly, it is always good practice and good airmanship to inform the nearest Air Traffic Control Tower (ATC) before attempting to fly above the usually exempted airspace of up to 500 feet.
-
To sum it up, a paramotor is basically a “paraglider with a backpack motor” or a “motorized version of Paragliding.” There are two different types of Powered Paragliders or “Paramotors.”
The most common is called a “Foot-Launch” unit or a backpack, where the pilot wears a backpack-style 2-stroke motor onto his / her back and has to physically run to become airborne.
The second type is called a “Trike” unit, where the motor is mounted to a go-kart-style platform with wheels.
There are plenty of variations among these two types and many factors like weight, age, physical ability, takeoff elevation and flying-style determine which gear is best suited for an individual. To decide which type of unit is most appropriate for you and how much it would cost, it’s best that you talk to us so we can guide you into making a better decision.
-
So far there is no regulatory body that governs or regulates any laws for paramotoring in India.
The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), being the only body responsible for the Indian skies does not consider paramotors as aircrafts that need to be regulated yet.
So, luckily, one does not need to own a license to fly a paramotor in our country.

Even though there are many who seek the pleasure and freedom of independent flying, it does come with a dark side. It is widely understood by most that everything is hunky dory till it stays that way.
In case of an accident or mishap, one can be left immobile and unattended to. This can lead to undesired loss of time, which otherwise could have been utilized to take corrective measures to avoid further serious medical complications. So our advice to all is, never attempt to fly alone or at least have one buddy who wouldn’t mind tagging along with you even though he may not necessarily want to fly.
